xTuple ERP 6.0.0-beta and other components are now available

xTuple ERP 6.0.0-beta is now available for download from the xTuple Customer Portal. Thanks to all who contributed to make this release possible, including Steve Buttgereit. There have been various bug fixes that have been added to the application since the 5.1.0 release. Our focus has been on improving overall quality and functionality.

Of particular interest are the following:

  • The first stage of the costing updates.

  • UI/UX changes to various screens.

  • Consolidated updater packages.

  • Removed the Quickstart databases.

  • A number of bug fixes were contributed by the community members named above. Thank you!

We have also worked on a number of other components and have published the following:

Will the enterprise-6.0.0-beta.gz package upgrade enterprise 5.0? The naming conventions here are different.

Hi Rebecca - great question. Yes. In the past, we used to have a separate upgrade and install package. You had to use the install the first time and upgrade subsequent times, because the install package had things that could only run once. We have fixed that and now only need one package for each edition, which is simpler. Hope that helps!

If you are below 5.0.0 do you still need to do all the little steps required for that upgrade? or this upgrade automates that part?



Yes, to upgrade from 4.x to 6.0 you still need to follow all of the pre-5.0 upgrade steps, such as fix country references, make column and table changes in queries, and check scripts. Those must be done manually because they cannot be automated.
